Week 1, Day 6 - Update on January 1, 2010

It's new day of the new year and as usual, nothing special. I woke up around 4pm, woken up by my sis since dad was asking whether all of us wanted to go out. Dad bought Dunkin Donuts for lunch!! yum!! I heated up my McD's Prosperity Burger and ate half of it. The balance half I ask mum and dad to take it since I wanted to eat the donut more. After my "brunch", around 8pm, we decided to go to Jusco for our dinner and plus mum wanted to buy some groceries. We had steamboat for dinner at Johnny's Steamboat restaurant. We ordered a set meal of 4 person while mum and dad order one fried rice, fried kailan and a papaya salad. I had the steamboat and a cup of strawberry milkshake.

I had quite a number of retakes on the steamboat. Around 4 small bowls? Felt full after thanks to the milkshake. Filled me up good. We had our deserts later on, classic banana split. We finished our dinner around 10pm and rushed to the department store to buy our necessity goods. I bought 2 fruit juice, bread and a few snacks to munch on in case my old habit to munch comes back. We practically finished our shopping around 11(a good 1 hour walk of exercise). After back at home, we had spicy-sugar squid for snack and I had a glass of cranberry apple juice with aloeV to go along with it. Quite tangy on the taste bud when the two ingredient blends. My water intake is still low but I do hope I can start consuming it more.

You just gotta
love Lurve!

Pocky Strawberry is just a must to have

Compared to other brands, I preferred Peel Fresh Blueberry & Cranberry mix fruit juice with aloeV. It's the aloeV that just makes it yummier for me

F&N Fruit Tree Apple Cranberry with mixed fruit juice is just delish!

Week 1, Day 5 - Update for December 31, 2009

It's new year eve!!! A decade almost over!! I can't believe that it's going to be 2010. It feels like it was just yesterday we watch the world turned to a new millennium. A lot has changed over the past years. I hope I did though..
I slept for a really long time and woke up around 5-6pm. I was really tired. I'm not sure why..maybe it's because I didn't eat meat or because I'm eating a little bit too little. I didn't had any lunch or snack. Mum said that we're gonna have KFC for dinner so I was thinking of saving my stomach from being over full later. Besides, when my parents were on the way packing food (planning to eat at home to watch the fireworks on the balcony), I just started to bathe. After 40minutes later, parents reached home with KFC and packed McDonald Prosperity Burger for tomorrow. We had our dinner around 9.10pm. First time in awhile to have everyone on the table eating together. I didn't take any picture. Everyone was busy chatting and passing food around, lol. I practically had 2 pieces of chicken with coleslaw, mashed potato and potato wedges. I ate quite a lot(too hungry). We all celebrated with a bit of soju for bro and dad and had korean dried squid to snack on. Nothing much happen besides that. We watched the firework display(sadly, it was far away so we couldn't see much but just sparks of light) and that's that. Later around 2am, my sis and I had our supper of bread-butter-cheese for my sis and bread-butter-jam-cheese for me with a hot cup of choco. Warms up the tummy.

Week 1, Day 4 - Update for December 30, 2009

I can't remember what time I woke up or what time I slept. Bad memory..If I'm not mistaken, I woke up around 10am. I had 4 meals today. Around 10.20am, I had my breakfast. Quite a heavy breakfast to be honest. 2 scoops of rice with 2 torn lettuces, a little bit of oy muchim, kimchi and kongnamul muchim. Mix it all up and eat it! lol..

Becoming vegetarian lately. After my breakfast, around 1-2pm, I had my lunch. Too early to have lunch to be honest but somehow I felt hungry. I had the balance of last night dinner, dwenjang chigae. Just had the soup with a bit of oy muchim and kongnamul muchim. I shared a bowl with my sis. Unfortunately, I forgotten to take a pic of it ):

Around 6-7pm? I had my dinner. Same thing as last night. Dwenjang chigae. I just had the soup with fried omelet egg. I didn't do any exercises besides walking around the house. I was planning of doing DIY yoga on youtube but somehow I can't find a peaceful place at home. Most of the time I'm just sitting in front of my comp, googling on hairstyling, facial treatments, make up ideas and dresses. Grad night is coming soon!!
I didn't sleep untill 5am. Went to watch a movie called the 13th warrior(1999). Its really an old movie. I had a snack while watching. I had oranges and a sandwich of butter-jam-cheese topping it up with a hot cup of choco. Yyyum!! Finished my supper around 4am while watching the movie and hit the sack at 6-20am..(i think)

Week 1, Day 3 - Update for December 29, 2009

Lately my bedtime has gone chaotic..Been sleeping late at different times. Sometimes around 10-11pm..after two days or so..i'll sleep around 3-4am..sigh...I've been noticing that my appetite has gone very low..so I'm trying to boost my eating consumption a little bit..gotta start from small anyways..For lunch I had 2 pieces of wholemeal bread with curry. Served with lettuce, egg, fried vege and kimchi.

Surprisingly it made me over stuffed. Lol. I wasn't hungry untill late around 9pm or so..I had korean bean paste soup(된장찌개)* with rice and egg for dinner. I had other small dishes too which are oy-muchim(오이 무침)* and kongnamul(콩나물 무침)* muchim. As usual, my intake on water consumption is very low. 2 glasses of water will make me bloat a lot. I gotta try to consume more slowly..

============== Information ================

*콩나물 무침 - The name kongnamul muchim(콩나물 무침) means "seasoned bean sprouts" and its usually served as a side dish.

*오이 무침 - Oi Muchim(오이 무침) is a spicy cucumber salad. Its normally served during summer seasons as a side dish.

*된장찌개
- Dwenjang chigae(된장찌개) is a stew made from bean paste. This soup is often served alongside rice as a meal during lunch or dinner but it can also be served with a main course. Usually, it contains a variety of vegetables and several shellfish including small mussels, clams, shrimp and/or large anchovies but for mine, it contains only vegetables.

Week 1, Day 2

Today was troublesome. Some of you may not know, I'm not a big fan of horror movies. Just three days ago, my siblings were watching Paranormal Activity real live video and I can tell you, scenes from the film just wont seem to leave my mind. Couldn't sleep properly because of it. I fell asleep around 12.10am and woke up at 2-ish am. I refuse to go back to sleep. Afraid something will appear if I did. Its tough being a fraidy cat.

At 4am, I started to get hungry. Made some green tea with sis and shared a slice of bread with jam and butter. I had a can of Nescafe-Black roast too. Later around 9? or was it 10? Had a plain bread and cheese sandwich. No butter, veggies or anything in it but cheese. Apparently, I didn't take a picture of it.

I had my lunch around 1pm. Since there was nothing much in the fridge, I just stick to simple stuff. Filled my plate with torn wholemeal bread, cherry tomatoes, kaktoogi (깍두기*) and kimchi (김치*).

Such a wonderful colour on the plate

I didn't do any exercise though. I was too tired. Couldn't think straight due to sleepiness. I took a nap around 3? 4? and woke up again (I didn't even get to look at the time). Dad called and asked to searched an important documentation letter. Searched practically the whole house and again, couldn't think straight. I guess I really need a good night rest. I fell asleep again after that. Woke up around 6 something. Took my bath and had my dinner at 8.10pm. I didn't feel like eating much, so I just had a bowl of rich with veggies - kimchi, tomato cherries and lettuce leaf.

I'm vegan for the day!! Lol!
Had some orange juice to go with it. Quite tasty for me (I have a weird taste on mixing food). Lately I my appetite seems to be low..might be because of my month.. My intake on water today seems to be very low. A cup of green tea, a can of nescafe coffee, a glass of orange juice and 3 glasses of water? Sheesh...I need to stock up on water more..

--------------- Information ---------------

*깍두기- Hot radish "kimchi" (Kaktugi) is a type of winter "kimchi". Radish is the main material, and red pepper, garlic, ginger, green onion, salt-fermented shrimp and etc, are added. Whole radish is washed, trimmed, and cut into dices. It also has a process of fermentation.

*김치- Kimchi is any one of numerous traditional Korean pickled dishes made of vegetables with varied seasonings. Its most common manifestation is the spicy cabbage variety.

Week 1, Day 1 - Original Date 27/12/09

Can't believe I missed posting my diary! Had couple of stuff on my mind and somehow, thoughts clash, lol.. Any who.. Didn't slept much today; probably because I slept late again (; ̄ω ̄) as usual. Though I did wake up early somehow..unusually strange ( ̄m ̄〃)..

I have good news and bad news.

The bad new is I didn't take any pics of what I ate today..but the good news is, I remembered what I ate and I'll post pics from the net of what I ate (。・ω・。) so please bare with me and my nonsense..

After waking up today, I practically had nothing to eat at home ( ̄u ̄;) Searched through the whole kitchen to find something to munch on.

(FYI: I didn't add this into my first info on my diet, but I tried starving by eating once a day and having two really small meals per day and end up getting bad gastric due to it. I had to skip school 3-4 times a week for 5 days just because of my bad gastric..yup, I go to school once or twice a week ONLY..and it sucked BIG time! I practically flunked all my tests and most probably my O's too. Back to topic.. because of my "bad" gastric, I had to have a proper meal *evenly proportioned* every 3-4 hours per day as told by my doctor. The doctor told me that I either ate too much or too little or ate too much of spicy food..as guilty as I am, I admit doing all of that. I just love spicy food!

As mentioned above, I have to eat every 3 to 4 hours per day to keep my gastric at bay. As a result, gastric. Thankfully, my dad was on the way home from work. So he packed us (mum, bro, sis & I) lunch. For lunch, or should i say brunch, I had a Kelantanese food called Nasi Kerabu*. I didn't each much though, not that hungry I suppose.

After that, I practically continued what I normally do. In the evening, around 7-8pm, parents decided to go out to shop for groceries so my sis and I tagged along. We had our dinner around 9-ish at an Indian restaurant called "NZ". I had a traditional Indian food called Nasi Briyani*. Somehow today, I didn't eat much again..lol

Reached home around 11, i think, stored the goods and get an hour of rest. Soon after I went to bed at 12.

*Nasi Kerabu literally means "rice salad" (rice with raw vegetables) which is a regional specialty from the state of Kelantan on the east coast of Malaysia. The vegetables consists of bean sprouts, cucumbers, onions, long beans, lemongrass and polygonum leaves. Some ingredients may vary depending on the seller.

*Nasi Briyani is a popular dish amongst Muslims and commonly found in South Asia. It's made up of spiced rice and usually served with beef, mutton or chicken. The spices and condiments used in biryani may include but are not limited to: ghee, peas, beans, cumin, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves, coriander and mint leaves, ginger, onions, and garlic. The dish may be served with dahi chutney or Raita, korma, curry, a sour dish of eggplant (brinjal) or a boiled egg.
